A land-locked nation in West Africa is a place where the people are friendly and named for their integrity. The Coffee Bar is going to join West Ridge Church by financially supporting efforts to better their lives. Efforts include building wells and schools, planting churches, and supporting church planters. When you purchase drinks at The Coffee Bar, 100% of the net sales are donated to the people in Burkina Faso. Brian Bloye, lead pastor at West Ridge Church, just returned from a trip to Burkina Faso.

Free Drink with Student ID

During the week (Dec 7-14) of Georgia Highlands finals, The Coffee Bar will be open late 8pm-Midnight, and each student with a current ID will receive a complimentary beverage of their choice. The Coffee Bar is a fully-operational coffee shop with espresso-based drinks, wonderful brewed coffees and sodas. Come and use our free WiFi while you drink an excellent beverage made just for you.

The Coffee Bar is located at 245 S Tennessee Street in downtown Cartersville inside the House of Rock building.

Open Late for Finals Week

The Coffee Bar will be open 8pm to 12 midnight during Georgia Highlands finals week. Beginning Monday, Dec. 7th through Monday, Dec 14th all students with a valid ID will receive one free beverage of their choice. The Coffee Bar is a fully-functional coffee house that sells espresso-based drinks, freshly brewed coffee, cold fountain drinks and refreshing Italian sodas. There is also FREE Wifi for all customers.

The Coffee Bar is located at 245 S Tennessee street in the House of Rock bldg.

Coffee Cupping @ The Coffee Bar

The Coffee Bar had its first cupping last Saturday evening. We learned about coffee during the coffee cupping. It is similar to a wine tasting. We learned about the origins of different coffees and how to tell the differences in their aromas and flavor profiles. Byron, our Counter Culture rep did a great job conducting the cupping.

A few fun facts about coffee:

Lighter roasts of coffee contain more caffeince than darker roasts

Coffee is native to only Ethiopia and Yemen.

A coffee plant requires 70 inches of rain per year

The espresso machine was invented in France, but perfected and manufactored in Italy
(The Coffee Bar has a La Marzocco espresso machine which was handmade in Italy)

Espresso is a way of roasting the coffee beans, not a flavor of beans.

An Americano is a drink composed of 2 oz. of espresso which is then watered down. Italians created this drink for the “Americans” during war times in Europe because the soldiers weren’t used the strength of the espresso drink by itself.
